Why won't Donald Sterling go away?

Clippers Owner Donald Sterling has shown that he won't leave the Los Angeles Clippers without a good fight in the court room. While the CEO of Microsoft Steve Balmer has already decided to buy the Clippers 2 Billion dollars which is 12 times more than the Clippers should make during the 2014-2015 NBA season. So why won't Mr. Sterling just take the money and ride off into the sunset?

It has me extrememly confused about how he doesn't like African-Americans but he owns a basketball team in the NBA which has a 70% Black popoulation. He has an old slave owner mindset in which he thinks he owns the Clippers players and the minorities of California who buy his homes. According to ESPN Analyst Chris Paul has said "The team may boycott if Donald Sterlind remains Clippers owner at the Start of the Season." That would be the consequence if Mr. Sterling reamains the Clippers owner, but I believe that this will be handled before the season starts and the Clippers will have a new owner.
