What's the problem with the Washington Wizards?

The Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have come into the 2017 season as a dark horse to win the Eastern Conference and the NBA Finals. They have a Superstar in John Wall and a Rising Star in Bradley Beal. They are the pillars of the team. The rest of the starting line-up consists of Otto Porter, Markeef Morris, and Marcin Gortat. Their bench is more improved with the additions of Mike Scott and Jodie Meeks.

The Washington Wizards main opposition in the East are the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. The Cavs have the best player in the League, LeBron James, and a deep bench. They want to make it back to the NBA Finals for the 4th straight year and take down the Warriors. The Celtics have acquired Kyrie Irving, they also acquired Gordon Hayward and drafted Jason Tatum to add depth to their roster in order to make it to the Finals.

The problem with the Wizards

Even though the Washington Wizards have an uphill climb to the NBA finals I believe that it can be done. The only problem with this is that the Wizards are an inconsistent team. They lost to a young Lakers team, a terrible Nets team by 30 plus, and the Hawks by double digits. As an experienced team you're supposed to beat the bad teams but that's not the case.

Our problem is that because we have made it to the Playoffs recently we think that we are the team to beat. So when we play terrible teams the Wizards believe that they should cower in fear and lose. But each team has prideful players on them and they are playing for money as well. John Wall has taken notice of this and has called out his team. “We talk about it. We say when we play these teams that are not above .500 or not one of the great teams, we go out there playing for stats,” Wall said, via Candace Buckner of The Washington Post. “It’s simple as that. We can see it. I think we all can see it when we play.”

If the Wizards want to be a serious Contender they have to become mentally strong and treat each team with respect. I believe they can do it because they have beaten Boston and Houston thus far. Which is their best wins on the season. But they have to remain consistent throughout the entire season.
