How Cam has become the new version of A.I.
As another NFL season has come to an end I have come away with one fact, the culture of the NFL is about to change and it's all thanks to one man, Cameron Newton. Throughout the entire season the NFL fans has had no choice but to watch and see what Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are going to do next. They have set a new franchis record for most wins during the Regular Season going 15-1 and Cam Newton winning his first NFL MVP with 3,837 yards passing, 35 touchdowns throwing, and 10 rushing touchdowns. Every game he has danced and smiled his way from one victory to another even though there are people who don't necessarily like it.
ESPN Ryan Clark explained the hatred for Cam Newton perfectly by saying that Some of the fans that have a problem with Cam Newton's personality are from a time when Quaterbacks were "Stoic" and didn't show much emotions from the good plays and bad plays that occured on the field. So when they see Cam "Dab" after a Touchdown he begins to be labeled "Classless" which isn't fair to him. He has excelled and progressed so much this year that he shouldn't get degraded and criticized as much as he is by the press, commentators, and fans.
Cam from that perspective reminds me a lot of Allen Iverson when he played for the Philadelphia 76ers. Allen Iverson wasn't liked by everyone because of how he represented the part of the Black Community that others didn't know about and didn't want to know about. As talented as Cam is and A.I. was they have to reach an unreachable bar and are being forced into a box by critics and fans. But one thing I love about both of them is that they always have and will always do it their own way. If you honestly don't like how they act then you should pray that your team could prayerfully stop them, which on most occasions didn't happen. They both have made it to the Championship Game in each respected sport and if they had more help they both could have won it. Also one important thing that can't be denied is that they both have left a positive impact on the Current and Future Generations.
I have heard that the reason that Dwayne Wade and Chris Paul wear the number 3 is because of Allen Iverson, when he played many were glued to their screens because of his amazing ball handling skills, his smoove jump shot, and his passion for the game of Basketball. He was definitely misunderstood and He could have handled some situations better but there is no denying that "The Answer" had changed the game not just the NBA but for young Black kids who had a dream of playing basketball.
Cam has done the exact same thing, After every touchdown is scored by Cam he hands the ball to a young Panthers fan in the crowd, and they are so excited and grateful for it. Many have become fans of the Panthers because they love Cam and they relate to Cam. Because of the fact that we live in a Society that wants you to conform in a negative way Cam has decided to remain who he is, unapologetically while winning games. Thanks to these two men the game will never be the same and they did it their way.
