On this past weekend President Donald Trump shook up the NFL world by saying at a rally in Alabama that the NFL Owners should fire every NFL Player who disrespects the National Anthem by kneeling. I was very shocked by what would come next which was a push back from the NFL Owners and Players. There were many teams during the Anthem that would lock arms in unity, and there were also some teammates who would hold hands and kneel as well. Also there was 3 teams that decided not to come out of their locker rooms during the Anthem which included the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Tennessee Titans. It was a great sign from the NFL to our President but I do have one criticism. Many of the same Owners were against Colin Kaepernick still are denying him a job in the NFL but yet they knelt for the Anthem themselves. I personally feel that for most of the Owners who locked arms with their players it was a publicity stunt to show that we care about their player and their opinions but in reality it is the exact opposite. The Owners are driven by money and for many of them they would not sign Colin because their fanbases would react negatively by not coming to the game and or stop buying the Teams merchandise. So Colin is blackballed because of his stance on African-Americans being treated unequally in the USA. But when President Trump says that NFL fans should boycott games because of the protests from the Players that's when the Owners had enough. I have never witnessed in my life a President who is as divisive as President Trump but he is not the problem, he is the result of a culture and a mentality that has been taught for hundreds of years. If we all weren't prejudice, and held the true meaning of the Declaration of Independence in our hearts. Which is all Americans should have the opportunity to live life, have liberty, and the ability to pursue happiness. That's all we want, and we will stand up and protest until our voices are heard.
